Wild Shopping Spree!!
I recently drove over to the old downtown section of Scottsdale, Arizona to see friends visiting the area on their vacation. Good times! I have no idea what “normal” is for foot traffic here, but the amount of people wandering about seemed pretty good for a weekday. The span of shop styles here range from cheap tourist trash, to trendy boutiques, to pricey artworks. it seemed as though fully a quarter of the stores handled jewelry.

The carriage ride concession. Apart from the sparkly-painted red hooves, they were great. Here, it’s time for a little water.

…And then he would briefly look around. Struck me as the kind of dog that would need a assertive Alpha owner to do well.
Apart from a bottle of soda pop, my walk on the wild side netted me two belts from Mexican Imports. I was looking at the lighter colored one when Matt asked if the dark brown one wouldn’t be more useful overall. Hmmm. Yup, but I also liked the lighter one. See, I already have a couple of very good “dress” belts – that I almost never wear. I’m a bit tough on belts, see, hanging stuff with clips on them. So for day-to-day use, I wear (and wear out) the cheapest belt I can find that’s still halfway presentable. I needed just one daily belt, as my current one is getting a bit raggedy. I liked both of these before me, each having both stitching and embossing. Rather than do my usual careful analysis of highest appropriateness to my “wardrobe” colors, I noted the $12 price and made the executive decision to buy both and get it over with. Done.

These may not last long, but hey. The loops are thin and won’t be there long. The leather-wrapped buckle might show wear pretty quickly, too. But the leather strap itself is thick and surprisingly well tanned. Many belts approaching this price range are hurried along, and smell like it. The unfinished inside surface is smooth rather than fuzzy.
That’s my version of being totally out of control. After a superb supper in wonderful company, I headed back to Wickenburg. What a day!
Looks like you had fun at Old Town. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos 🙂
And thank you for the kind complement!
Your welcome! Have a great weekend
