Strolling Amok

Pops goes on tour.

Days Roll On

My son sent me a new sticker for the shop he's at, and so I stuck it on the Furd. It's a general supportive thing only, since the shop is in Illinois!

Posts on this blog will be few and far between until the middle of the month, when my cellular data plan rolls over. Just letting you know ahead of time. Nothing’s wrong. I just downloaded a YouTube video at the start of the month, and now I’m doing my penance. Humphrey Bogart movie outtakes. Go figure. It was worth it.

With rain off and on all day yesterday, it finally ended with the sun briefly peeking out near sunset, and this rainbow was the result.

A week from now, Paulden, AZ should begin sailing into the low 90’s for daytime temps. So, I’ll be heading for the higher elevation of Tusayan AZ, near the south entrance of the grand Canyon. My crazed plan to hang out in the mountains of southwest Utah before heading for the Bonneville Salt Flats to watch land speed record attempts was put on hold, and after a week and a half in Tusayan, I’ll be making a pilgrimage to Illinois to stay at a Fairgrounds. Muchly personal business to attend to. This blog may not be too exciting to read around then, but I still have half a hope to be able to make it to Bonneville in time to see something interesting.

Believe it or not, this is supper! Yup. Nice late breakfast, nice late lunch, and then this at the end of the day. I was surprised and delighted the first time I tried it. It's actually quite filling, and I love it. First, enjoy the sliced tomatoes with olive oil. Done? Dip the bread into any leftover olive oil. Take a sip of red wine, then a bite of onion. Oui, it is good, no? Then a little bite of cheese, and then a little bread of some well-bodied variation or other. This "Como" Italian bread has an element of sourdough in it. Limit the olive oil, because it's so calorie-intensive. But man, this is good!
